Minga Advisors is a change agent firm that leads collective impact projects to solve complex community problems with a unique approach that combines systems thinking and collective impact. Our principals have extensive experience in strategic planning, systems engineering, project management, non-profit leadership, and public policy.
Leslie Hartog, Co-Founder and Principal
Leslie is a social entrepreneur, consultant, and a systems engineer. Leslie started Minga Advisors because she wanted to apply systems thinking to solve complex social systems problems in her community.
Leslie is a systems and operations engineer and a strategic planning consultant with 30 years of experience at Walt Disney World; national parks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Capitol Visitors Center in DC; and local non-profits. She is the Past Chair of 100 Women Strong, a women’s giving circle and an initiative of the Central Florida Foundation, whose mission is to improve the lives of women and children through strategic philanthropy. Leslie has an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from UCF.
Lauren Chianese, Chief Change Agent
Lauren has been a lifelong advocate for quality education for all children, focusing on equity for children living in low-income communities. Raised in Central Florida, Lauren moved to Los Angeles when she joined Teach For America - a program that recruits top-level college graduates to serve as classroom teachers in rural and urban communities - as a 7th grade math and science teacher.
Her commitment to education equity took her to the Office of the Los Angeles Mayor where she led state and federal policy initiatives aimed at increasing education quality and equity. She moved back to her hometown in 2012 and continued her work in education, working in policy at the state level with the Foundation for Florida’s Future, then as the founding executive director of Teach For America - Orlando. Lauren is presently the co-chair of 100 Women Strong, She holds a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Florida.
